Around the World in Three Ways

Around the World in Three Ways

I was thinking about how the world looks differently at every stage of life, from inception to old age.  How your viewpoint changes, how your demeanor towards fate changes...  It's not an admonition, but just observation, at how one's viewpoint evolves through age.  This started out solely as watercolor, but then I added oil and ink.

  1. I was thinking along those lines too. Someone mentioned how long they have been married, and that lead me to thinking where I was at the time. And then about how much has changed, and how much hasn't. It was a long thought train :-/

  3. I love this piece and your thoughts. I agree with you. Our viewpoint does change, and it can definitely be a help or a hindrance. Up until 2010 or so, I never thought of what I wanted to create in my life in terms of 'how much time I might have left." I just put it out there and went for it. In the past couple of years, sometimes those thoughts come up to influence my choices and dreams.

  4. They come up and I might, at first, think, oh, at my age, is that a good idea? But then I think if it makes my heart sing and feeds my soul, I'm going to just go for it. As the window of time looking forward gets smaller, no time to waste or fritter away. Just keep dancing!

    1. Pattie, first of all, I'm so glad you like the painting. I spent quite a long time on it and wasn't sure if I conveyed my thoughts. Thank you. I love that you have chosen the path of forging ahead regardless of age/time. I think when we feel something bringing us happiness, then it is our soul saying do more of this...this is a gift to yourself & the world. I have that feeling of what's the point many times, but then I think of Julia Child who only began her passion in her 30's and then lived until nearly 92. I don't know if we'll get that long, but we definitely can try to squeeze as much joy out of each day we do have. What I write is a reminder for myself as well. (-:

  5. J'aime sans chercher à savoir pourquoi. Le graphisme, les couleurs de vie, la vie que détiennent vos créations... IL y a beaucoup d'alchimie dans l'art, vous touchez le spectateur et c'est magique.
