I love eating the dish, Hoppin' John, even if it wasn't good luck. What am I talking about? Are you familiar with the Southern saying about eating it on New Year's Day? Well, here it is:
Eat poor that day, eat rich the rest of the year. Rice for riches and peas for peace.
Below is my tongue-in-cheek version of it. (-; Here's to a wonderful 2015!
12" x 16"
Here's some more Black Eyed Peas -two of my favorites from them!
"Let's Get It Started"
"Let's Get It Started"
"Where Is The Love"
Good tunes! You should send this recipe to They draw and cook. :) Have a great one :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila and thank you very much for the suggestion. You know, I went ahead and did just that, along with 2 others. The only problem is my dimensions are wrong in all cases. I don't know what my problem is...I have a couple of their cookbooks and have known about their website for several years, but have never submitted. Considering how much I love drawing AND food (ha!), I don't know what I'm thinking. Actually, what I NOW am thinking (or hearing) is Gwen Stefani singing, "What you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting foooooorrrrr." Geez, I seriously can't help associating a song with my every thought! Too bad there's not a "They Draw and Sing" website. Hmm. That's an idea...
