Happy New Year - Eat Up Some Hoppin' John

Happy New Year, everyone!  Actually, I'm posting this on New Year's Eve...one more drawing to finish up a big art year.

I love eating the dish, Hoppin' John, even if it wasn't good luck.  What am I talking about?  Are you familiar with the Southern saying about eating it on New Year's Day?  Well, here it is:

Eat poor that day, eat rich the rest of the year.  Rice for riches and peas for peace.

Below is my tongue-in-cheek version of it. (-;  Here's to a wonderful 2015!

Day 313. Daylight Savings Time/Flying South

Hope you all remembered to turn your clocks back.  Even one extra hour of sleep wasn't enough to recover from the last few days of whirlwind art creation and transport.

I'm going to give you a sweet, little reminder to not fret the loss of sunshine.  It's as its supposed to be.  Time to huddle down into the coziness of your home for awhile.  Leave those sweet ducks alone so they can bring the light back to us in the spring.
