Day 357. Ugly Sweater Triumph

A local art gallery is having a show on ugly sweaters.  The deadline was today, and I missed it, unless they let me slide in there tomorrow...

Anyway, I woke up at 3:30 a.m.and finally just got up and started working on this at 4:15 until going to work at 7:30 and again after work.  That time never takes into account what's going on in your mind beforehand though, does it?  I have GOT to sleep tonight.

Blah, blah.

Here you go then:

Ridiculed in her youth for her Avant-garde style selections, Griselda was completely vindicated later in life when she won 1st place in the national ugly sweater contest and went on Project Runway as a dark-horse contestant.

Mean Pom pom girl:  "My Goodness, what ARE you wearing!?"
Mean accomplice:  "Hmmph!"
Griselda:  "They're called Doc Martens."
G-girl, thinking to herself: "If I were in London, I would totally be in the "IN" crowd.  They have no idea."

Punk with heart of gold:  "I'm feeling it."

Tim Gunn:  "She is an utter visionary!  A complete conundrum of complexity, and I, for one, applaud Griselda!"
"It's granny chic!"

 Victorious, adult Griselda:  "Thanks, Tim!"

Day 254. Van Gogh & Picasso Go to Williams-Sonoma

No, the above title is not the beginning line of a joke.  That darn Project Runway--I had to watch it, and draw while I watched it. Tonight is my late night at work followed by a Friday early morning rise so I had to work while I could.  Here's some sketches of these great artists, two of my very favorite (I tried to draw them in their own artistic style) on a Williams-Sonoma bag.  Below is the olive oil that had come in it.  It was on sale, because it was soon to expire, but it's still mighty delicious.

Thanks, Williams-Sonoma, for the art paper supply. (-;

Olive oil was the instrument of my drawing paper delivery.

Day 83. "Take It All Off"-Project Runway Style - No longer Available

Did anyone catch last week's episode of Project Runway (3/14/13), episode 8?  This season is all "team" challenges, and in this episode, the 2 teams had to design clothes for an Australian Male Dance Revue.  Think Chippendales, but way hotter.  Anyway, Heidi was cooooooooooooooooool as a hothouse cucumber when dealing with these guys, while stern Nina was reduced to a school girl gigglebox!  Quite the revelation!

The judges absolutely hated the "tear-away" clothes so much, that Heidi declared there was no winner, and that the best part of the show was when the clothes were off.  Uh, huh, Heidi.  I think if they were wearing Chanel Haute Couture, you'd still prefer the clothes off. (-;  (I'm with you, chica!)
