Day 131. Her Lips Were Meant to Play the Flute (No Longer Available)

This is Sue Gillio, owner of "Music Suite 408."  She's known that she's wanted to play the flute since she was 4 years old.  Can you imagine?  By knowing her purpose so early in life, she's been able to forge quite a path in that field.  She's played internationally, recorded professionally, has her own studio, and has taught countless children and adults this woodwind instrument.

Her first technique in teaching little ones is to have them spit uncooked rice from their tiny lips.  She told me that it helps them to get the "feel" of how their lips need to be held in order to play into the flute's mouthpiece.  How ingenious.  Some of those little grains have even ended up on this canvas!
